I just got back from a trip to San Diego and Anaheim, and while I should have been focusing on the amazing beaches, views, and so much more, I kept noticing recycling bins everywhere! All different kinds, and in places I’ve never seen them before here in NY. Below are just a few of them. I would love to see these efforts everywhere. With Earth day coming up, now is a good time to follow San Diego’s example. Check out these photos, and a look ahead at my upcoming Earth day events, the first of which is tomorrow!
A beautiful sight at the beach!
Stylish bins throughout the hotel.
A simple dual bin in the hotel room. I’ve stayed at many hotels and have never seen a way to recycle in the room before.
At a small cafeteria in a children’s museum.
Even at Disney!
If you want to recycle, there is always a way…in hotels, I usually leave bottles on the floor next to the garbage, hoping they will be disposed of properly, and if I’m out and about and can’t find a recycling bin, I will try to hold my recyclables in my bag until I get home. But having these bins everywhere is a great reminder, and a way for us all to do a little good.
PS: I also loved San Diego’s electric cable car trolleys, and recently rode the oldest of these still in operation in New Orleans.
Now for my upcoming events where I always hope to instill a love of recycling in both kids and adults:
